{"id":1611,"date":"2017-12-20T04:19:18","date_gmt":"2017-12-20T04:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/?p=1611"},"modified":"2017-12-31T02:09:34","modified_gmt":"2017-12-31T02:09:34","slug":"lovettsville-museum-wins-award-in-light-up-lovettsville-contest-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/index.php\/lovettsville-museum-wins-award-in-light-up-lovettsville-contest-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Lovettsville Museum Wins Award in &#8220;Light Up Lovettsville&#8221; Contest (2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On December 20, 2017, at the &#8220;Light Up Lovettsville&#8221; awards ceremony at Lovettsville Town Hall, Mayor Bobby Zoldos and Councilwoman Kimberly Allar handed out the awards for Lovettsville homes and businesses with the\u00a0best holiday exterior illumination. \u00a0Lovettsville Historical Society &amp; Museum received\u00a0first prize in the category\u00a0&#8220;Best Overall Holiday Spirit Trophy (Best Business Display).&#8221; Elaine Walker accepted the award from current Lovettsville Mayor Bobby Zoldos on behalf of the Lovettsville Historical Society &amp; Museum.\u00a0\u00a0Walker\u00a0is a former multi-term Mayor of Lovettsville, a current board member of the LHS, and one of the original trustees of the Lovettsville Museum, which opened in 1976. \u00a0By Walker&#8217;s side was Lovettsville Historical Society\u00a0board member, Melani Carty, who, along with fellow LHS board members Sam Kroiz and Ed Spannaus, illuminated all four sides of the exterior of the Museum building with mini-lights and LED spotlights.<\/p>\n<p>Fred George III, President of the Lovettsville Historical Society, and his wife Anne George, provided\u00a0the Light Up Lovettsville judges with\u00a0warm and comfortable transportation through all the streets in town, in their personal tour bus. \u00a0See below for the\u00a0complete list of categories and winners.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1719\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1719\" style=\"width: 443px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1719\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171218-LVL-LIGHTS_ERIC_8004545_WEB-1024x654.jpg\" alt=\"171218-LVL-LIGHTS_ERIC_8004545_WEB\" width=\"443\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171218-LVL-LIGHTS_ERIC_8004545_WEB-1024x654.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171218-LVL-LIGHTS_ERIC_8004545_WEB-300x192.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lovettsvillehistoricalsociety.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/171218-LVL-LIGHTS_ERIC_8004545_WEB-768x490.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 443px) 100vw, 443px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1719\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Fred and Anne George piloting their tour bus full of Light Up Lovettsville judges.
