Join public historian — and LHS member and volunteer — Nancy Spannaus to learn about her just-released book on America\u2019s early anti-slavery movement, Defeating Slavery: Hamilton\u2019s American System Showed the Way.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Spannaus will also discuss how Alexander Hamilton\u2019s vision for U.S. industrial development could have prevented the Civil War.

\u201cAs the United States prepares to commemorate its 250th birthday, I hope this book will play a critical role in addressing our nation\u2019s experience with slavery, and even our sense of national identity,\u201d Spannaus explained.

Defeating Slavery<\/em> is available on Amazon in soft cover and e-book. Signed copies can be purchased at a discount at the Lovettsville event.<\/p>\n\n\n
