The Lovettsville Historical Society will be holding it’s 7th Annual Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence at St. James UCC Church, 10 East Broad Way in Lovettsville (where the Sunday lectures are) at 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 4, 2026.
PLEASE COME! It is a way to feel just a little bit more of a patriot on the nation’s 250th anniversary. Together with bell ringing before and after the reading, you’ll get to sign the Declaration and be a part of our annual community picture. The whole thing takes less than an hour–so you can adjourn for a celebratory bier afterwards in good German style.
