Indexing the Lovettsville Museum’s Files (2018)

The Lovettsville Historical Society & Museum has a growing archive of documents, maps, and photos pertaining to the history of Lovettsville and the surrounding German Settlement. LHS Vice President and researcher, Ed Spannaus, has been busily digging through the cabinets and creating handy indexes to our holdings, which are available at the Museum and on the LHS website under the “Local History” tab:

 

Family Research Files

These include family histories compiled over the years, as well as some books and monographs. (indexed).

Civil War Research Files

Includes materials donated by Taylor M. Chamberlin, co-author of Between Reb and Yank: A Civil War History of Northern Loudoun County, particular Southern Claims Commission files, and the background documentation files for the Reb and Yank book. (Partially indexed).

Research Books

Indexed.

Lovettsville Institutions

Schools, churches, businesses, mills, homes, and other local institutions. (Not yet indexed).
